OUR RESCUES

We rescue dogs from

  • Kill shelters

  • Humane organizations

  • Animal control agencies

  • Owner surrenders

When animals are taken in, they rarely have a medical history. Rescued dogs are examined and treated by a licensed veterinarian to ensure they are up-to-date on vaccines, receive parasite treatments, and any other care that may be necessary. All information on medical care is provided to the new owner upon adoption. Paws 2 Freedom requires that all rescued dogs must be spayed/neutered prior to adoption! Paws 2 Freedom cannot guarantee the health or temperament of an animal after adoption.

In order to complete the adoption agreement, you must be at least 18 years of age and will need a valid Drivers License or photo ID.

We encourage you to schedule a meet and greet with our adoptable dogs. If you do not find what you are looking for, a wish list is maintained and we will notify you if a dog is received that meets your criteria.

FAQs

What is the difference between a shelter and a rescue?
Most shelters keep their animals at one location and are typically funded by the local government. Rescues keep their animals at volunteers' homes and are funded by donations.

What do I do once I find the dog I love online?

You can fill out our adoption application with a note about which dog you found. We will reach out with questions we might have or you may have in return. We can arrange a meetup and finalize the adoption process if your process is cleared.

What will help my adoption process?
Having a fenced-in yard, dogs have lots of energy and will need a space to play and run. If you know the breed you can do some research ahead of time. Every dog is different and has different personalities so learning their specific needs is important. The more details the better. Knowing your living situation, current or past experiences with raising animals, including training and exercise.

What if I want to adopt but don’t find a dog?
If we have your information from the application we will keep you in mind for all incoming dogs. We may not have a dog for you right now but don’t give up. We will find the perfect fit for you.
